Data Privacy
Parapex Media regularly reviews its responsibilities under the various data privacy laws around the world. In particular
GDPR General Data Protection Regulation (EU)
Under the definition, Parapex Media is a data processor and not a data controller - as per this guidance page from the UK’s ICO (Information Commissioner’s Office). Thus Parapex Media does not need to be registered for GDPR, but purchasers/users of the data should ensure that they have reviewed their responsibilities too. The full definition of a Data Processor is enshrined in GDPR Article 28.
CCPA California Consumer Privacy Act (US State of California)
Under the CCPA definition (see paragraph A4 of the FAQ), CCPA, Personal information does not include publicly available information that is from federal, state, or local government records, such as professional licenses and public real estate/property records. The only records we research relate to aircraft ownership from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) website, and this is excluded as above.
LGPD Lei Geral de Proteção de Dados (Brazil)
Parapex Media has reviewed EU advice on LGPD (given the Brazilian regulations are all in Portuguese - see Law 13709 of 2018) and in a similar way to the GDPR review, we do not need to be registered.
